Well - as you can see my daughter, Melody, spoilt me rotten! She created the above drawing, which I love!!! And I hope to get it framed.
Seriously, how many children make their mum breakfast on Mothers Day? I never made my mum breakfast, and state school did not educate me to appreciate my mother. Mainstream school most certainly did not educate me to cook a healthy meal. We baked cakes! So getting a nutrition rich breakfast with no fat, salt or sugar, was a real treat. And good for me! Then there were the flowers. The icing on the cake. What mother does not enjoy the odd bunch of flowers.
I cannot stress enough, just how lucky I am! Every minute, of every day, I treasure with my adorably kind hearted daughter. She is a real GEM. It just shows you that old fashioned values create wonderful people!
Children have such a tough time. I feel they deserve a CHILDREN'S DAY! Especially, if they go to State School. I am a very lucky MUM! Question is, would my daughter Melody appreciate me the way she does, if she was surrounded by children who are pressured to grow up?
When the doctor (Asthma Nurse) or dentist asks my daughter ... "DO YOU SMOKE OR DRINK?" We look at each other in shock. She is 15 years old, seriously, what sort of question is that? But, maybe this is what they are used to with State Educated Children? I would like to know exactly how many children in mainstream school do smoke and drink? Perhaps it is time to get their blood tested?
Then us Home Educators can prove, at least we are doing something right! Because our children, well mine anyway, does not drink or smoke!
My partner does not drink. I rarely drink. We don't smoke or gamble. And we don't have cigarettes or alcohol lying around in the house. But when she was in State School - things were different. There was a lot of pressure to go out with the mothers drinking. I was never that keen. Preferred to spend time with my daughter and family. One mother was so shocked that I don't go out drinking, she asked ... "What do you do for fun?" My idea of fun is watching a good film with my daughter and partner.
I wish we could attend this Home Education Conference in Russia. They seem to promote good old fashioned family values, with regards to putting children first! Sadly, some British Elites that give their children to Nannies to raise - seem to have no understanding of what real family life is all about! How many of these people are in Government? Maybe, that explains why they hate Home Education, they were never truly loved themselves? Seriously, putting your child in boarding school seems so heartless! Prince Charles is a prime example of how he begged his grandmother for help, and sadly his parents did not listen.
