Family birthday cake replaced photo cake

My little girl wanted a family photo birthday cake. The shop that makes these cakes had run out of cakes. So Mummy had to come up with a quick solution. And here it is!

I asked her Dad to pick up a sponge cake that I could decorate. Lucky enough he chose one that already had icing on and some balloons. It was only £3 for the cake and it made it easier for me to decorate. I just used Fondant icing and normal food colouring. Mixed the colours and hey presto. It took me longer than I thought so I am glad that I did not bake the cake as well as ice it.

My little girl adored the family birthday cake, because family is everything to a child. It is more important for a child to have both parents together than any gift. I am happy to make any sacrifice for my child because I had her at the right time in my life. When you are young you can be quite selfish so 30+ is a great age for Motherhood.
