DYSLEXICS HAVE VALUE

Made by Dyslexia - BBC Interview

My below comment left on the above YouTube (BBC interview with Made by Dyslexia) video today 3/8/22:

When my daughter could hardly read, write or spell in school, I used MUSIC and ART to make reading FUN, not stressful. My daughter is now a BOOKWORM! I hope you will check out my video called 'Bookworm Bookcase Dyslexia Dyslexic.' Being Dyslexic myself I have witnessed many Elite Academic Brick Walls that try to prevent the Working Class from having a voice. I look forward to things changing. My daughter Melody is self-motivated because I have allowed her to study at her own pace and I have not overwhelmed her with too many subjects. She has been allowed to study subjects she excels in. Instead of being forced to study subjects that have no logic or meaning to her. Too many children are being failed by our school system. I am a Team Player, so I hope my voice will be heard as our story has true value and could help create great change.

Our true story. And how I used Music and Art to make reading fun, not stressful:

HOW MANY CHILDREN LEAVE SCHOOL UNABLE TO DO THE BASICS OF READING, WRITING AND SPELLING?

When my daughter was in school she needed to be assessed as a Dyslexic to get help. They failed her. This is down to funding and lack of knowledge on how to help a Dyslexic to read. The school claimed she was not Dyslexic even though she had to copy so she did not get in trouble, and she could hardly read, write or spell. If they had have read with her more, they would have noticed she could not read! Our school has two big scandals, which have been swept right under the rug. Instead of looking at school failures they bully the parents. This needs to stop.

"If I - a British Dyslexic Mum can turn our Dyslexic daughter into a Bookworm - when she could hardly read, write or spell in school, then anyone can do it!"
