My daughter could hardly read, write or spell in school (UK). One teacher told Melody that she could not read a big book. School books were so boring they sent me to sleep. Melody said, "Mummy I will read a big book, I will show that teacher!" And she did!
Rachel Renee Russell's Dork Diary books made reading fun. These books encouraged Melody to read BIG BOOKS. The books were funny, they touched on bullying which she could relate to and how she loved the illustrations. You can see Melody's attempt at copying the Dork Diaries drawings by Rachel's clever daughter Nikki. (Right hand side).

HERE IS MELODY IN OUR LOCAL LIBRARY WITH THE BOOK RACHEL RENEE SENT HER FOR HER BIRTHDAY
The Librarian really wanted to promote the success of Melody turning into a bookworm when she hated reading in school. Sadly, this did not happen. Long story, lets just say the UK can be rather bullying and the powers that be stopped the promotion because the UK Government is anti Home Education! If only the UK was more like the USA where they share success stories of Homeschoolers. The UK calls it Home Education.
BEFORE MELODY COULD READ A BIG BOOK I HAD TO HELP HER TO LOVE READING USING KINDNESS, ART AND MUSIC
I would take Melody to the Library and get her to pick around four books. Of course she went for the bright funny picture books.
Then I would get Melody to sing the stories:

Melody was determined to prove her old school teacher wrong, nobody tells my daughter she cannot read a big book and gets away with it. I used my own technique to help Melody remember the words she could not read, and it worked! Here is Melody spelling the words she could not read from a big book:

MELODY IS 19 NOW AND STUDYING ART FOUNDATION
My daughter got into Art College and managed to skip Levels 1-2 thanks to Home Education! Councillor Kevin Griffiths supports Home Education and kindly funded her to teach Art to children in 2019. Even though we do not follow a religion (but I believe in the God of Kindness) Jason allowed us to use a room in his Church for free. Melody was only 16. Here are some of Melody's student's Art Work:
Melody's Art teacher in College said her Art is the best she has seen for a long time. She also said what a GEM Melody is to teach. Many of the College Tutors comment on how hardworking Melody is, and how she is always in the Library studying.
The English Tutor said Melody's Descriptive Writing is very advanced, and she can tell she reads a lot of books.
Please share this wonderful Home Education Success Story from the UK, because our stories never hit the public domain. They are hidden. The USA shares success stories and many Homeschoolers are famous Authors, Actors, Singers, Musicians and sports people etc. State Education is not for Creative People. They need the fun factor in learning and kindness!
It is not fair that children suffer bullying in school because they learn differently, only go to be being bullied for being Home Educated. Many people claim Homeschoolers are lazy and watch TV all day. This is a lie! We need more KINDNESS in this world!

I believe every child deserves a Bespoke Education to fit in with what they are good at. Home Education (Homeschool) supports this.
Melody is currently having to get up at 5 am to try and fit in her music studies before going to College. She does not stop. It is important our children get time to relax their minds. And enjoy their youth.
In 2019 Melody wrote the Lyrics to this song called Broken Souls and created the melody. Her father produced the music. Solomon, another Home Education success is the Silks Performer. One day he will teach Silks and I would not be surprised if he ended up in films.
Here is Melody performing her original Robin Song with the orchestra. She really misses her Music Studies.

Kind American Film Director, Tom, has supported my daughter for a very long time. He has always encouraged her to keep drawing, singing and writing.
Tom and I really want Melody and others to get the education they all deserve. A Bespoke Education.
He kindly gave me the below letter to give to the College. Sadly, teachers I feel have no say over trying to help their students by creating a more Bespoke Education for them. They have to do what they are told. I got this impression from a University we visited when the tutor told me that they wished they had more of a say over Art Education. The Academics seem to control everything. Good teachers need a say over what they are teaching, because if they do not, their students will never reach their true potential. Elite Academics need to be Team Players and liaise with the experts who teach the Arts.

Did you know that working class families get penalised for their low wages. They get charged more interest (Loans etc) than others which can put them in debt. I know because I am in debt because of this unfair system. Thank you Actor Michael Sheen for speaking out about this.

My point is the UK Government are bullying us about Home Educators, but apparently there are 9 Million people in the UK that cannot read, write or spell.
Even Dyslexic Matt Hancock states that many people in prison cannot read, 50 percent are Dyslexic. This proves Academics in power are not capable of educating all children!
