This Fathers Day, I thought I would make a special effort and take some cuttings from our garden to send to my Dad. He is a retired gardener and loves planting. When he used to work for the Council, he had to dress in a very trendy green outfit. Yes matching green trousers and top. I was on the phone to my Mum one day and she said "Here he comes, HO, HO, HO, GREEN GIANT!" I can still picture him in his green outfit and my Mum and I laughing on the phone.
I have never sent cuttings before so I hope they arrive in one piece and are of some use to my dear old Dad. So what cuttings did I send him?

Can't remember the name of this plant. Some wall climber. The clouds were unreal today!

Yellow, green hedge
Purple flowers. Who knows what they are called? But I love them!

Melody and I are so going to miss our garden when we sell the house
Melody really enjoyed helping me today. She wrapped the cuttings in wet kitchen paper and I wrapped cling film around the end. We make a great team!
We boxed the cuttings up.
Melody drew a picture on the box for Grandad. And we posted it off. It cost just under £4.00 to post.
So what did you get your Dad for Fathers Day? My Dad is pretty special. It is their 40th Ruby Wedding Anniversary on Sunday too. Cannot believe they have been married for 40 years. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful, stable family life. I really do have a great Mum and Dad. Lucky Me!
Maybe that is why I care so much about children in state care, because I was the lucky one. I do hope I can help children one day!
Melody is looking forward to seeing Daddy tonight. His work mates call him the Todd Father. I find that quite amusing.

Our garden is my little piece of heaven. I adore watching the flowers bloom and planting new ones. The birds singing make you feel so lucky to be able to experience the great outdoors and hear the beautiful sounds of nature. We are so lucky to have our wonderful garden.

RED ROSE FROM THE HEART
My darling daughter brought this rose bush for me for mothers day one year. I adore it! And love the purple flowers. Must find out the name of the purple flowers as they are gorgeous and so easy to grow. Great for covering up ugly walls.
FATHERS DAY My Dad loves gardening and used to be a full time gardener. I think I will send him some cuttings from our garden for Fathers Day.

This wooden hand seat is falling to pieces. But I still adore it.

Melody, my daughter, has had asthma since she was a baby. Of course the doctors tried to tell me she did not have asthma. But when you have asthma yourself, you know when your child is fighting to breathe. I was right and they were wrong. Mummy always knows best!
SHARE ASTHMA KNOWLEDGE
Two people I know have warned me about the inhalers and how dangerous they are. So I will be researching this. But for now, I want to share with you asthmatics some very good news. First of all here is the ingredients for a natural remedy to stop your child coughing. My daughter loves this stuff and it works!
Ingredient's - Honey and Orange
You can use a whole orange or just half. And you need runny honey.
Sieve the orange, because most children hate bits!
Try to have more orange than honey, because otherwise it is too sweet.
Mix with a wooden spoon. I use the end of my mixing spoon.
My eleven year old loves this stuff. And it has stopped her coughing at night.
HERE IS SOME GREAT NEWS FOR ASTHMATICS
Both my daughter and I have not used our inhalers since Sunday night (coming up to five days.) Melody always complained about cleaning her teeth, because every time she finished cleaning her teeth she would end up producing a never ending amount of phlegm in her nose and throat. She was going through 1-2 toilet rolls a day blowing her nose and coughing up phlegm. The great news is she is getting better! It is so lovely to not see her suffering the way she used to. We stopped using fluoride toothpaste on Monday. Instead we put a little salt in pure water, not fluoride tap water. And brush our teeth with that. We also gurgle, so the salt reaches the back of the throat. Then we rinse our mouth out with pure water, not fluoride tap water! But we do not gurgle with it, as we need to keep that salt at the back of the throat to help our asthma. And it has worked! I would recommend to keep inhalers in the house for emergency. But we are trying really hard to stay off them. Asthmatics tend to breathe through their mouth. This is something I used to do. Learn to breathe through your nose. The nose has a built in filter and can help stop allergies.

Every time my daughter brushes her teeth with fluoride toothpaste, she starts coughing up lots of phlegm. I decided to do some research and have come up with the following. I purchased this 1920's necklace off my Mother-in-law for my daughter. When I had it valued I found out it was worth a heck of a lot more money than I paid for it, so I returned it to her. Melody, my daughter, and I had a lovely day in the garden. We cleaned out the old frog ponds and found five frogs. Yes it has to be said she is a huge frog fan. My camcorder has broken so I was unable to record them. But we do have lots of wonderful frog videos from previous years.
