Do Mum's (Mom's) have time to do art and crafts with their children? Would you allow them to take art and craft lessons on the computer?

Hi to all the Mum's (Mom's) on the Internet

I am trying to find out if you as parents do art and crafts with your children. I know if you are working that sort of thing is very difficult to fit into your schedule. My little Angel loves to create original drawings and adores making things. If you have time just take a look at this little video below and let me know if your children enjoyed watching her draw:

I have met someone very interesting on You Tube who is an amazing artist and has a website where arty people teach classes on line. The lovely thing about this is that anyone can do it and there are no critics. I guess I am the sort of person that believes everyone has the right to create no mater what their ability. And this group think along the same lines. If you scroll to the bottom of their website you will see a heart wrenching video about how critics have pulled an artist to pieces. Very sad, as the artist clearly has talent!

I love You Tube and thank Google for the opportunity to create lots of videos for free.

And would really like to hear from all you Internet Mum's (Mom's) out there. Please get in touch and leave me a little comment as I would really love to know that children are still creating and doing art and crafts and are not stuck to computer games. Why is this important? Well I have a big kid myself, he is my partner and is just wasting his talent away on-line games.

My little girl made a basket full of handmade Puffles and took them into school

Today my little girl took a basket of handmade toy Puffles into school based on the Disney toy (Club Penguin.) The kids loved them and she has made a further 20 of them to take into school tomorrow. If that ain't great advertising I don't know what is. Problem is she is giving them away for free and I now have no brown tape. But hey if it makes her happy!

You may have seen my previous blog on how to make a White Puffle toy. Well my little girl had me making a red Puffle toy too. With this one I had to dye the feathers red using food colouring. Hopefully my partner will start his new job soon and I can buy her the real Puffle toys by Disney.

Flamingo Dragonfly Fairy from the Butterfly Lullaby fairy story book

Flamingo Dragonfly Fairy - now there is a name you will never forget! I came up with this original fairy character from my love of dragonflies. There is a pink dragonfly, which is so beautiful I had to rename it Flamingo to go with my dragonfly fairy. There Flamingo Dragonfly lays fast asleep in the marshes after being attacked and stung by the Army Wasps.

The Flamingo Dragonfly fairy dress was handmade and designed by me, Sharon J. Bainbridge. It is also hand painted like all my other fairy costumes. No patterns were used!

Above you can see my gorgeous little Flamingo Dragonfly Fairy doll I made out of a clothespin peg. Subscribe and you will learn lots of fun crafts with me and my very own little child artist MABT.

The Poppy fairy from the Butterfly Lullaby story

The Poppy fairy from the Butterfly Lullaby story. I still need to come up with a unique story for this little character. She is based on my beautiful poppies from my garden, which sadly have recently died. The fairy dress and poppy wings were handmade and hand painted by me, Sharon J. Bainbridge.  It is one of my favourite handmade fairy costumes.

Sparkles the Ladybird fairy is the stop bed wetting fairy from Butterfly Lullaby

Sparkles the ladybird fairy is a very special fairy who helps children sleep through the night without wetting the bed. She is one of the fairy characters from the Butterfly Lullaby fairy story book. All the characters in this book have their own very special talent and this is Sparkles magical gift.

The above Sparkles the ladybird fairy dress was designed and made by me, Sharon J. Bainbridge.

Below you can see my very special handmade Sparkles the ladybird fairy doll I made out of a clothespin peg.

Feathers the wishing well fairy from the Butterfly Lullaby fairy story and fairy peg doll (clothespin doll)

Who is Feathers the fairy? Feathers the fairy is the wishing well fairy from my children's fairy story book called Butterfly Lullaby.

Feathers the fairy travels through the wishing well to get from one place to the next singing her sweet wishing well song:

Wishing well
Please take me their
Take me to
The heart of you
Wishing well
Please take me their
Take me to
Waters within you

Listen to the fairy wishing well song below:

Feathers is not any old fairy, she is the sleep fairy. So if your child is finding it difficult to sleep you will need to call on her for help.

Below you can see my little fairy doll I made based on Feathers the wishing well fairy. If you would like to know how I made this gorgeous little fairy peg doll (fairy clothespin doll) subscribe to my Butterfly Lullaby blog.

Above you can see my Paradise peg doll fairy and Sparkles the ladybird fairy doll. Don't forget to subscribe as we are a very creative family so you don't want to miss out!

How to make cheap postcards and thank you cards save money the Butterfly Lullaby way

Did you know you can make very cheap postcards yourself with very little effort or knowledge. All you need is my postcard template, computer / printer, some 4 x 6 inch photo paper and paper glue. I am going to tell how you can create great looking postcards the Butterfly Lullaby way and they will not cost you a fortune.

HOW TO MAKE CHEAP POSTCARDS AND THANK YOU CARDS - SAVE MONEY

1. Save the Butterfly Lullaby postcard template below by clicking on the image, then using your right hand mouse do a click and save to your desktop:

2. Print off the Butterfly Lullaby Postcard template on to 4 x 6 inch photo paper. You can pick this up very cheaply from any supermarket.

3. Now print off one of your 4 x 6 inch photos/artwork or child's artwork. Note. You may have to use the scale to fit media in the print option.

4. Using any type of pritt stick paper glue you need to cover the back of the postcard template. Then place your 4 x 6 inch photo or artwork on top.

There you have it a very cheap and non flimsy postcard that you can send to family as cheap thank you cards and messages without the need of envelopes, quick, easy and cheaply the Butterfly Lullaby way.

If you want to make your postcards even more special get your photos or artwork printed professionally by a photo lab this gives your postcard that professional touch which will never fade. The 4 x 6 inch photo is cheap anyway to process by any photo lab so give it a try, especially if you are sending out wedding invites using the postcard technique. Or mailing your friends and family your artwork and family pictures.

2 times table game handmade based on Cindy Woo our flying rabbit

When the school requested we all make a game based on the 2 times table, I was totally thrilled. I had just seen my little girl write the 2 times table from 2 to 100 and was so impressed I thought this was a good base for the 2 x table game. We of course had to create characters and who better than Cindy Woo our very own flying rabbit. Little artist MABT drew the characters, which we coloured in on the computer and printed off.

Even our pet rabbit loves the 2 x table game, she loves to jump in and pick up the boats with her teeth and knock them to the ground. This means we of course have to go back to the beginning. We have named the game after our bunny rabbit and it is called The Adventures of Cindy Woo. I feel a little story coming on.

Cindy Woo our pet bunny rabbit has now sprouted wings and can fly

Cindy Woo our little pet dwarf bunny rabbit has spent too long in our Butterfly Lullaby fairy garden! She has now sprouted wings like our garden frogs. Her bunny rabbit lead just holds her, otherwise she would fly away.

Be very careful! Join my blog and who knows what could happen, your child could end up with fairy wings and there is nothing that we can do about it.
