DYSLEXIA MUSIC THEORY
Dyslexia Music Theory, yes it is possible! Dyslexics have superpowers and gifts. When our daughter could hardly read, write or spell in State Education (School), I used Art and Music to turn her into a Bookworm. She recently passed her Music Theory Exam with a Distinction. Melody is going on to study Grade 6 so she can compose, and write music sheets. She also wishes to one day teach music. Our daughter asks a lot of questions, which her music and art teachers like, and complement her on. And she writes a lot of notes. Melody said to me, "Mum, I don't just want to play an instrument, I need to understand it so I can play in full COLOUR!"
Give a child the right environment and teacher, and they will shine brightly!
Playing by EAR is a GIFT! I believe children deserve praise for this and should be given a Certificate. Many famous guitarists/musicians play by ear: Prince, Lionel Richie, Eric Clapton, Hendrix etc. Why is this not recognised in school?
