I know two ex FARMERS, who would never use Roundup or any other pesticide in their garden. What does that tell you! And I know an ex school teacher that has done much research into the dangers of Toxic Chemical Weed Killers. He cringes when his uneducated neighbour sprays it all over her back and front garden with no protective clothing. And quite honesty he does not want that muck anywhere near his pets or children. We have a right to complain!

Japanese knotweed is a well known source of resveratrol since extraction is straightforward and cheap. I believe it is now the only source of resveratrol for skincare applications.
Many large supplement sources of resveratrol use Japanese knotweed and use its scientific name in the supplement labels. Japanese knotweed is a concentrated source of emodin, used as a nutritional supplement to regulate bowel motility. The roots of Japanese knotweed are used in traditional Chinese and Japanese herbal medicines as a natural laxative. The active principle responsible for the laxative effect is emodin, present in its natural form as a complex of its analogues.
